I have to say, your raising a very interesting point.

I've only just taken up (7 Months) karting with my 2 kids running a couple of Clutched BT82's, and have as a result not only helped the kids, but have also spectated at about 10 race meetings, including Super 1.

I have to say I fully understand most of the reasons behind DD's Additional Power especially during cornering, less weight etc. But all of that supposes that you manage to stay on the track.

If you counted the number of competitors who spin or get nudged off the track during a single race your quite probably as high as 10% of those taking part.

Now I know if you end up in the long grass etc its all over no matter what your driving.

But if your DD your race is pretty much run no matter what happens.

If your clutched you may have a chance but if it stalls your dead in the water without a drill.

The only way it seems of consistently having a chance of some points is if you can restart yourself quickly.
