funny cos i made the switch from tkm to prokart last year
in terms of the tkm, engine rebuilds tend to be 4-6 hours for bottom end and 8-10 hours for a full rebuild
the carbs are wonderful little things, you will need a paddle arm height gauge and a pop off tool, set them so it pops at 12 and holds at 7, you can adjust them a bit for different tracks to get better top/bottom end depending on your gearing/engine characteristics/temperature etc, but i really wouldnt worry about it
jets need to be set at 2.25 high jet and 1/4 to 1/2 on the low jet (the big T shaped one), again that can be altered to give better top/bottom end, you will get that feeling after some experience.
tyres i used to set at 8psi on ruddy hot days and up to 14 on really cold days.
in terms of oil, use the shell advance 2t oil and shell petrol (not optimax, just the normal stuff)
in terms of difference to prokarts and tkm, SPROCKET ALLIGNMENT AND CHAIN SLACK IS CRITICAL!!!, you need +-10mm play in it, and the rear sprocket needs to be dead on allignment with the engine as at 15800rpm you will go through a lot of clutch drums if it isnt!!!...oh and check your engine mounts on the chassis every race as they can vibrate loose under the load of the engine.
other than that just enjoy, 2/ karts are amazing animals, i love racing in prokart, but i do miss that pure feeling of a 2/ kart on the edge....awesome feeling, undescribable!!!
