How is it the 'fastest line' when it 'breaks axles'?

You may just have heard this ONCE or twice before.... to finish first, first you have to FINISH!

Stay of the damned kerbs of break your axles.....the choice is yours!

While we are at it, the quickest line through some corners is to miss the corner altogether.... why not do THAT..... after all....it's the 'quickest line'....
