Don't use sealant!
Clean all remnants of sealant from the exhaust and the flange on the engine. Clean the flange and the inner mating surface of the exhaust getting rid of any burrs - check the dry fitting for shape - you should be able to 'feel' if it's right.
Mount the exhaust using 4 springs, making sure that the vertical angle of the exhaust is in line with the flange as much as possible, and that the lower part of the exhaust inlet is not fouling on the engine. You can adjust this using different mounts on the exhaust brackets.
