"It seems to me that one drivers union could act much faster and be much stronger ~~ "
The problem is that one needs to take a balanced view of the problems and everyone assumes that a Drivers Union will resolve a problem according to their point of view.
The reality is that there is no universal agreement, on almost any point in karting, because very few people will weigh up all the sides of an argument.
The nearest you can get is to say that any issue depends on the local environment, that the local club is the organisation that responds best to local issues.
If you cannot get a local club to agree that what you want to do is 'the right thing' what makes you think that it is right to force it on the country?
In order to take 'quick action' a Drivers Union will always be taking hasty and wrong decisions.
The problem at the moment is that there's a few people who cannot understand why a particular decision is taken and assume that their answer is 'right' and should override anyone else's opinion.
So, it would appear that the primary function for the Drivers Union as defined by this forum is to force through decisions that aren't popular or wanted or balanced; on the grounds that anyone disagreeing is an idiot and wrong or that doing something quickly is better than doing the right thing.
Not exactly reassuring, is it?
