Hold on there...... you are making errors, here!
If you move the track rod to different holes, you will have trnsformed the basic handling of the kart. Go and look-up the meaning of the term 'Ackerman Angle' and how moving the track rods affects it!
Here's an EXCELLENT tool so that you can SEE what the change in mountiong the track rods in the inner or outer holes DOES to the steering!
http://www.compgoparts.com/TechnicalResources/AckermanSteering.asp
Simply click your mouse inside the white box. That 'unlocks' the 'cursor'. Now, move your mouse left and right to see the effect of 'Ackerman' on steering.
Go and play with that tool until you can see what happens if you use different mounting holes
Secondly, simply straighten the old one (with a hammer, if you need) and measure it! If not measure the bent rod with a flexible tape measure, first around the 'shortest route ('outside' the 'bend') and then the shortest root (inside the bend) and take an average of the two.
