Get yourself a Tillet Ribcage and fit it to the seat... its consists of two winglets that restrain you tightly in the kart and prevents you from moving around - the primary reason for rib cracks/breaks. In terms of a rib protector - the Tillet and OMP ones are the best in my opinion.
