It must be us 'old people'. I simply CANNOT understand those who drive without a heel-stop (unless they use the chassis-hoop as a 'stop').
However, you do see LOADS of drivers whith their heels 'flopping about' somewhere on any old the flat part of the tray. How they manage to give themselves CONTROL while braking I simply can't imagine.
Under braking, I want my 'weight' to be supported on my heel while I adjust my feet and toes to the required positions. Letting my arms and/or seat control my position of my feet is just NOT accurate enough...... for me!
I also agree it's 'personal preference' about the AMOUNT of 'throw' on the pedal. Those with a short throw are modulating the braking more by sensing/learning the PRESSURE required: those with longer travel are using more of the POSTION of the pedal rather than the pressure being applied.
It just seems to me that if 'users' don't know HOW to adjust between short and long throw and the difference made by those two, then it's hardly a 'personal preference'........ if they don't know how to SET the 'preference'...... in that case, it's just the luck of the draw!
