Although a newbie to the world of karting I've been in competitive sport all my life (yeah I'm an old git now).
Many moons ago a wise old sage told me a little story. It went like this.......

A man was sitting at the side of the road when a stranger who was traveling from leon to paris stopped for a chat.
The stranger asked the man what the people in Paris were like? The man replied "How were the people in Leon?" "wonderful" said the stanger, "really friendly, couldn't do enough for me. What a fantastic bunch". The man relied "I think you'll find the people in paris just the same".
Well a few hours go by and another stranger, this time traveling from Paris to leon stops to pass the time of day.
The stranger asks "What are the peopole like in Leon?" The man replies "How did you find the people in Paris"? "God they were aweful" replies the stranger "Rude, arrogant, aggressive. Complete ass holes really"
The man replies "I think you'll find the people in Leon just the same"

I always keep this story in mind when dealing with people. So far it has served me well.
