So despite having a three hour drive ahead of us I went to the MSA Tribunal meeting convened for 5pm. So what happened? My accuser didn’t show up despite being called on the speaker numerous times. Once the required time had past the MSA steward said I could go. But I asked the MSA steward how would he have dealt with it and he said he would simply have found both parties guilty of misconduct. So I learned an important lesson that day - DON’T EXPECT MSA JUSTICE TO BE FAIR!

Anyway back to the incident last month. I was so angry at the way my son had been quite deliberately dunted that in the collection area I went over to them and simply said sarcastically well done for ANOTHER GREAT ATTEMPT AT RAMMING US OFF.

Yes I know I shouldn’t have but you can only take so much. A short while after both parties where called up for a talking too by the Clerk. We explained that the ramming was becoming a regular occurrence and they seemed to have a vendetta against my boy. To this they replied that everyone dunts in Cadet karting and we should just get used to it. I was pleased that once their position was understood by the Clerk he spent most of his time addressing them and pointedly said “ARE YOU SURE YOU UNDERSTAND ME Mr* ****

Sadly given the level of intelligence demonstrated I doubt that they do. After all these are people who whilst their son was lying seriously hurt in hospital after another hairy accident, posted on here, “our season is ruined”! You could not make this up, could you!

And now to my final chapter. We were practicing at the weekend and everything was going reasonably well. In the last session we were having a good run but a kid we have raced cleanly with all year and usually beat made a really good move and out braked us. On the exit he ran wide and my boy went along side. They raced up to the next corner but as they approached it my boy who was on the outside was squeezed onto the grass and he spun. My view was that this was just a typical racing incident and my son showed inexperience at getting into that position. END OFF.

Anyway after the session I was leaving the collection point and the Dad of the kid who had helped my son onto the grass came up to me and started going on about my boy taking someone off. I said I hadn’t seen an incident but I would have a chat with him to get the facts. To be honest my mind went completely blank about his son’s involvement in taking mine off but we kept talking amicably. In the course I said I’m pretty sure my boy hadn’t been involved in anything as it wasn’t like him to be aggressive. To this his wife muttered something under her breath and made out he was a very aggressive driver – I WISH!
