I had this recently.

It was casued by the water pump failing. Do not run it again until you have it repaired or else risking a seizure.

It will have to be repaired by an engine rebuilder, I think it cost us all in all around £300 - £400.

Another thing you may notice is that the radiator is losing water slightly. Is your exhasut/surrounding components slightly wet after use?
