Thanks for the kind words, and yes, at least half a second a lap at the end of a final. I think it will help, if just because the handling is a lot more consistent.
Your posts have been very helpful, and at some point soon I'm sure I'll be able to put some of the practical advice about braking for overtaking into use.
You commented on tyre temperatures developing in corners. I know it's cars, but I'm also interested in this and will be doing some experiments soon where I can measure tyre temps at 3 points across the contact patch in real time as the car goes round the track. I was only going to use it for optimising camber and pressure setting, but your post has inspired a few other thoughts. It's a shame there's no easy (ok, affordable!) way of knowing how quickly the air temperature in the tyre changes when cornering, but the surface temperatures are measurable without going silly.
Huge temptation to put the same kit on a kart, but I try not to blur the boundary between what I get paid for and what I do for fun.
