OK, I was agreeing with David on the 20% reduction of speed as that agrees with data from the Bosch Handbook. But I've not got data for varying the speed, and I know from programming traction control systems that a fixed speed difference strategy can be made to work as well as a target of percentage overspeed. I prefer to use a percentage, but agree there are arguments for using a lock up speed. However I do know that locked tyres don't work.
If I get a chance later in the week I'll have a look through some data and see what speed some of the better drivers let wheel speed come down to in single seaters. It's nowhere near locked.
