I think you've possibly saved me some money here...
Mag has a lower volumetric specific heat capacity than aluminium. They're going to warm up quicker as far as I can see. It has lower thermal conductivity, so they're going to overheat quicker unless I go down a bit more in pressure. Once up to the slightly higher temperature I think they'll probably maintain the temperature better aluminium alloy rims, but like a couple have said, hard to say without measuring it.
So taking everyone's views on board, I'm going to stick with what I've got and do a bit more chassis and seat position experimentation, but I might try a set of aluminium fronts with hubs to see if they help.

(Ian, I think my version of your order of importance is something like 1, 3, 2, 4, 5 so far. Hard to consider tyres and not rims though, especially when other competitiors are pointing at me being the only one out on hubless alumium alloy.)
