On reflection, I think the new class would be a good move forward. BUT, surely a major change such as this should receive proactive consultation of licence holders, rather than a vague feedback request. Just as with the changes to helmets, the problem is these changes are bought in, in such a way as they have a huge financial impact on those partaking in the sport. The only ones who always seem to win is the karting business, whether this is the intention or not, it constantly tarnishes the image of the decision makers.
My other concern would be that all the engine options are 2-stroke. Why no 4-stroke option?
As for the access to cheap used equipment, if they homolagate the SODI MC5 chassis, after the exodus from karting here, there are containers loads of used chassis available. Lol.
