This class is not being forced on us but just offered as an alternative - so far at least!
No club will have to include the class and popular clubs could just state that unless they receive xx entries then they will not run it. This happens already for other classes so it should not be a problem.
So far, the age limit for existing cadets is staying as year of 13th birthdayso they are not being forced out. However, it does mean that the bigger lads may not be able to move straight to junior classes but, again, this already happens if you have a large 9 or 10 year old.
There has been a facility to lodge your comments on the MSA site and I would hope that if enough drivers and clubs object to the increase in the minimum age for juniors then the MSA will reconsider but you will have to make your feelings known to the MSA.
