I think that tkm is a good option from cadets because it offers a good manageable step from cadets to juniors karts. If you are looking at going to max eventually then fair enough, tkm now allows the system where you buy your cik tony kart, race it for a year in tkm, and move onto max if you so desire but now you won't waste money in switching chassis'. The lack of adjustment is not a bad thing at all as everyone is in the same boat, it does not limit you at all and so far the cik chassis' have all proven competitive in many forms and setup combinations. The tyres do last a long time and the motors are very very even, no expensive rebuilds or pay a builder a fortune to select good parts for you. For cadets too the karts offer a range of weights so if your a heavy of light cadet, you will have a restrictor to suit you and your build in theory. You may even find that a planned year in tkm turns into many years within the class without a question of rotax at all. Try it and see what you think but the class is doing very well, its stable, theres no wasted money on dodgy batches of tyres and the new equipment offers very good value for money, oh and they are fractionally faster than minimax although that counts for nothing if the truth be told.
