There's nothing wrong with the electronics on the TaG engine, but my advice would be to use a Li-Po battery as an absolute must. We purchased a 5000 mah 14.8v Li-Po off ebay for Ł40 and haven't had any problems at all. The extra voltage turns the engine over so much quicker and hardly uses any voltage up at all.
