Unless you have at least 2 spare soft axles with you at a race meeting then I wouldn't.

The record - that I've heard of - is bending 9 soft axles (I think it was 9...) in one meeting - Dean Golba.

Besides, on the lightest weight band you won't need to be losing grip (which is what a soft axle does).
