Look through the inlet while holding the block up to a bright light.

Look for light entering along the sides of the petals.

The outside petals suffer with the cornwrs chipping and fraying.

The new gold reedblock can suffer with a petal being able to slip down the side of the block along its edge due to a manufacturing fault so c heck that the petals actually have something to actually sit on.
