Due to the unbelievably poor bit of design, the end of the tube splays out and can defeat even the most robust of attempt to remove it.

Even to the point of a 13 stone man hanging on it from a hook in the ceiling.

Why didn't they weld it to within 1/4 inch of the end?

The problem is it's very dry and a bit rusty down there near the bend, so some oil dribble down there will aid the stubborn ones.

The baffle tube is probably going to be scrap by the time you get it out so I bend the baffle tube cup inwards until I can get a GENUINE Mole grip clamped on it very tightly and clump the mole grip with a hammer and out it pops.

It won't go back in unless you dress the end back to the right diameter.
