Pick one of the circuits nearer the end of the series. Go there at every opportunity with kart and practice practice practice. That way, you will have the knowledge of the circuit that these guys have, and thats half the battle.

I don't see any reason why you couldn't turn up and get a decent result. Depends how good your son is, if he's good enough, he'll do well
