Most myth and legend has some semblance of truth. If all Rotax engines had been made equal, a lot of the discussions on this forum wouldn't have happened. My point was, and still is, that we can't know by year of manufacture or engine number etc which ones are good or bad. Nor can we know if a year old Tony is good or bad. This would surely depend on who drove it, how heavy he was, how often it was used, how many curbs he hit, what tyres and engine where fitted, which tracks it was used on and many other things. This was my point to the original post.

I presume that a one make sealed engine class, was set up to make racing fairer and cheaper. Because of the inconsistency of manufacture it appears to have achieved neither. But this is a rant for a different thread.
