Although your considerations have changed, good decision making hasn't. So I believe the things I previously said remain correct. You say 'a rebuild may make it better ' and this is true. It is a possibility. But can you show probability? It may make it worse or it may make no difference. You say 'cnc machined barrel which is supposed to be better '. Even the manufacturer only says it's supposed to be more consistent. Can you show probability that it will be better? You then say 'knowing it will be repaired for free does give some comfort '. This is surely poor reasoning because all you actually know is the exact opposite. You know, it will not be free, because it cost £600. It will have cost you this £600 to fix it even if nothing goes wrong with it.
