As David has said, practice and get the feel of the tyres. Most CoC will take a dim view of any weaving or shaking the wheel and if you're not used to the grip will result in you looking towards the people behind you.
You will generally get a warm up lap for most races. Without weaving, as you go round a corner, put on full lock and feel for the grip before taking it off and steering round the corner. You're not weaving, more like driving round a fifty pence piece. That should get a bit of heat into your fronts. On the straights give yourself a bit of room to the person in front (10m or so) and accelerate and brake to heat the rears. Always be aware of others around you and don't go mad!
