just like to point out that a smaller track does not promote more lapping...if you think about it its to do with a percentage of speed...theoretically speaking you would be the same speed on a long track as a short track in comparison to the fastest driver...for example if a lap is 30 seconds (quickest) ans someone takes 33 seconds then thats 10% more time.....to compare-if a lap takes 60 seconds (quickest) then the other will take 66 seconds...its a theory of being 10% slower (than first) what ever track you are on until you improve...it quite a complicated theory tho...
