I've raced the class for 2 and a bit years now, being National Champion in 2008 and Northern Champion twice aswell as 7 years in TKM at both club and Super 1 level. So can give you a "balance opinion".
Good Points:
*The Restrictor format is very even across the range *The fact that the main national championship for the class is the NKRA has stopped it becoming a serious money class like others *Because of this, it's possible to be successful on a modest budget (National Champion for £4000 in 2008 against some who were spending more). *Engines can remain competitive for over 10 hours use (I know some who have over 25 hours on their motors)
Not so Good Points:
*You're very limited to what tracks you can race on, even more so than TKM. e.g. Grids in Central Scotland, Northwest England and Southwest England but not anywhere else unless the NKRA visits. *The Wets are either very good or very bad. At times it can be a bit of a lucky dip. *No warning of Starter Motor or Powerbox failures, just happens usually at the most inconveient time (i.e. on the grid for the final)
We're going Easykart after this weekend but we'll always look back on our Blue days with a smile.
Jamie.
