sadly that generally isn't the case when you want somthing aired for the 1st time! and very rarely at all... if the viewing figuers are going to be very high (like F1 and the world cup ect) television companies will be fighting to have it on their channel and pay for it... where as if you want somthing like S1 with next to no spectators past family and friends you will have to pay to have it on tv.

altho that said most events like the london cup and the tkm festival get sponsors to cover the cost of putting it on tv (people with some sence!)why can't S1 do the same?
