I can confirm the advice above on the Rotax battery and Optimate charger; the latter is only 6 or 7 quid more than the "genuine Rotax" charger which is just a flimsy piece of plastic **** IMHO.

FYI - we run a MyChron ebox on my son's MiniMax so can monitor battery charge during a session; last time out we got as low as 11.7v (after a lot of cranking due to cold weather) but by start of next session after 40 mins on Optimate were up to our "maximum" of 13.1v; kart ran fine throughout.
