I have read with interest the threads that have been posted about Easykart.
I find it very hard to understand how much knowledge people seem to have about different Formulas other than the ones they race in.
Easykart is run to Continental Format with Testing run on Sat,Practice Sunday follwed by 2 Qualifying sessions,a 15-20 lap pre-final, and 20-25 lap Grand final depending on the circuit.
the grids are always full with many experienced drivers taking part.I have just witnessed some of the best racing I have seen for many years, with only 5tenths between the first 15 on the grid and only 100ths between the first 6.the racing is wheel to wheel and bumper to bumper with little or no damage to kart or pilot it is fast and furious but the drivers all have the greatest respect for each other hence the damage limitation, isnt that what we all strive for low cost racing, because of the way It is run there is know cheating, you only have 1 kart and 1 engine and both the numbers are married up and put onto a data base, and registered to the driver you can only drive the kart registered to you and no-ne else can race on it,the sprocket size is determined for you, there is very little set up to the kart its mainly down to tyre pressures, and driver it really is what it says to work with Easy, gone are the headaches of what engine, what carb, what jet, what pop off Oh!it goes on, I have a headache thinking about it.
Sunday 20th was the final round and I have witnessed Terry Langley doing a back to back chapionship in the senior lights he bought the kart he raced on in Jesalo October last year for this season and his kart looks as good now as it did then with not even a scuff mark on his pods, he has'nt replaced any bodywork etc apart from a couple of bumper brackets that snapped all season, thats how clean the racing is, and there was some brillint racing from the Heavys, cadets and Jnrs all well desevered champions.
So please befor you start becoming some sort of authority on any formula try it first and dont knock it.
P.S I know for a fact that Terry has raced TKM 2 Stroke S1,TKM 4 stroke S1,ICA S1,and Rotax S1 and will tell you that this is the best championship he has ever competed in, especially when the prize for winning the championship is a fully paid drive at the World Finals in Italy this year is Siena. So if you want good fast racing, damage limitation, freindly people always ready to help,no cheating, etc come and join us you will be made very welcome by all.
