I was generally slow all weekend (and at Kimbolton the prior weekend). No matter what I tried (different carbs, different carb settings, different gearing, different flex lengths) the engine wouldn't pull off slow corners. I've only used it twice since rebuild and it's not great. Prior to rebuild it was very good so it'll be going back to be checked. The chassis is also fairly well bent making it hop and bog at will (and chew up the front left tyre).
In the pre-final the chain came off and, after running round at the back all weekend, I didn't have the motivation to sort it. Whilst I wouldn't have expected to win (the front 3 or 4 were bloody fast), I would have expected to consistently hit low 38s.
Regardless of my performance (or lack thereof), it was worth every penny, if only for the light entertainment on the pre-final rolling lap.
