When these carbs first came out in Dec 2007 they did contain swarf and each had to be stripped, cleaned and re-built by the pround new owners. This was a big issue and topic on the forum in 2008.

I think QC improved after that original batch, though reliability issues continued.

I'm sorry to hear you have had an engine siezure, but it would be difficult to prove any fault or claim any compensation from Zip.
