We were shocked to hear of Harry's accident as we (Tom Harris Racing) were contacted today by the parent of one of Harry's team-mates. Due to the similarity with my son Tom's accident in FKS at PFI we have supplied the documented threads from the various karting forums and the report of a meeting regarding the ZIP Front Fairing design held with John Ryan (MSA), Andrew Mellor (FIA Institute) and Martin Hines (ZIP Kart) following Tom's accident.
I have suggested that John Ryan is engaged at the earliest opportunity with any available photographic or video evidence and this will reinforce the messages he's received from other concerned parents. In Tom's case the video evidence was not clear enough to prove that nose contact was the primary cause of Tom's accident but clearly the possibility exists that it was.
Our best wishes go to Harry, a superb competitor and potential British Champion, and his family at this time.
As for Tom, he's missing his karting and after a follow-up X-Ray today has been advised to refrain from competitive competition for a further 3 weeks.
Regards
Ian & Tom
