The idea of new axles is so expensive for anyone wanting to change a current chassis across, new bearing cassettes, bearings, carriers for brake and sprocket, hubs, cutting down of axles as they would probabley be too long to work, then the axle itself, which are far more expensive than a 30mm version. Then the added cost of possibly having a chassis modded to take a 50mm axle, the tony tkms wont take a 50mm I dont think so they wouldnt have the option where as the jkh could just drop one in without the need for modification. Allowing new axles would also then allow rear ride height adjustment and I dont think many would understand this initially and then the added worry that teams with money could have any old custom cassettes made to varying heights and specifications to allow for smalled changes at the rear end. BAD BAD BAD, and expensive!
