I would it has everything to do with costs, karting may well be cheap motorsport but it's not cheap!

When times are hard the first thing to be hit are hobbies that cost money. I started a thread ages ago calling on the MSA/ABkC to address tyre costs and as ever it got no support on here and no action from the powers that be!
