I'm pleased this has sparked a lively debate and has raised some valid points. We run 2 ZIP Storm Chassis and are very supportive of the design and performance of both and have a good relationship with the guys at ZIP. What we didn't realise is that although running the Storm nose may not present a risk to my driver, it is clearly a risk to other karts that either hit it side on or head on in an incident increasing the risk of flipping. Judging by the thread responses there seem to have been a number of these incidents citing the sloping design of the ZIP nosecone as being more likely to cause a ramp effect.

For the sake of the children driving these karts, if there is any doubt that a safety risk exists then priority should be given to addressing this immediately to help prevent further examples of the accident that befell my son in the FKS Cadet B-Final last Sunday.

If a safer nose design exists then it should be incorporated into the regulations asap with NO exceptions.

Regards
