Interesting one this.

I had a guy who runs a team fixing fuel pumps suggest to me that the diaphrams are designed to work in fuel and therefore fuel should be left in.
By removing the fuel the diaphrams dry out then are re-exposed to fuel, wet - dry - wet - dry etc etc shortening he life of said diaphram.
Wasn't a Tryton carb but he certainly didnt seem to need to re-kit his carb that often....
