Sorry to say it's more, I've just worked this out and this is bare minimum and it works out more.
Fuel to and from the track 4 trips at £5 per trip - £20 2 stoke oil mixed with petrol 3 5ltr cans at £5.50 for petrol and oil at £2.70 = £8.20 per can so that comes to £24.60 for race fuel. Chain oil one can per six races = £1.33 per meeting Race member ship to hooton park = £3.30 per meeting Race Entry = £40 Practise Fee = £30 Transponder Hire = £5 Race engine rebuild every 6 Meetings doing it yourself = £32.50 per meeting Tyres, new set every three meetings = £38.30 per meeting Wet Tyres new set per season = £10.91 per meeting Spares and accessories = £20 per meeting
Total = £226.14 per weekend
I have left off food and drink because if you was at home all weekend watching the telly you would still need food and drink to survive so this is not a cost associated to racing.
If you had free tyres and only did race day then the cost would still be at least £106.07, but honestly trust me you don't want to do just race day, being a novice is quite daunting but going out on your first race with no practise is terrifying for you and annoying for everyone else.
Chris.
