Here in the States, the '09 cylinder has been used, but the National Tech Director issued the following statement back in the middle of April:
"Effective immediately - Dimension for exhaust port Template Verification for Jr Max cylinder part number 223 994 will be 1.10 mm. Part numbers 223 999 & 223 998 remain unchanged @ .90mm.
DON MOORMEISTER USRMC NATIONAL TECH DIRECTOR"
This indicates that the new Jr cylinder would have a 0.20mm advantage in exhaust port height over all other vintages, including the famous '04 cylinders which are limited to the 0.90mm requirement. This of course assumes that the extra port height is an advantage. Here is a short discussin thread: http://www.ekartingnews.com/viewtopic.php?t=81474
I think that your JAG is doing exactly the right thing if they are going through a testing program to determine if these new barrels have an advantage before allowing them across the board.
Does anyone know what other countries are doing?
