AS a new parent to karting, I feel simpathy for most of the people concerned, I can well understand the frustrations of a spectating, paying, mechanicing, concerning ect. ect. parent, as time and money, love and affection is given to thier driver and still it seems he can not win or even get close. My point as a sportsman is, all the money in the world will not buy that extra little bit of natural skill, the differences between first and second in most sports could be not just a line taken but the observation the time to observe, the preparation the training the diet the equipment the wind direction, you can have all that then you need to have the natural skill to put it all together faster than the man behind you. The problem being is parents need to accept that may be thier boy just, quite simply is not as natural at it as the boy who won. Part of growing up in karting should also be the preparation for your driver to know he is not going to win every time maybe never. Where is the sportmanship?
