3 sisters tomorrow - Tryton set up

I know what you are meant to do to set up the carb. The problem that I have is that I have to turn the high jet out 90 minutes to get it to rev below 12000. When I turn the jet in it gets to 12000rpm at about 80 minutes and alot of smoke comes out of the exhaust

As this goes against the general set up guides can someone have a stab as to what is going on with my carb.

Prior to the set up today it was flooding the engine -the high jet was set at 80 minutes.I have rebuilt it with a Tryton kit including the needle.

I will be at 3 Sisters tomorrow - any help would be appreciated
