i have to say that this was a massive improvement on any S1 first round that i have seen of the last 4years. First of all the track is a technical jewel to drive on and the hot conditions combined with the rubber put down over 3 days made it very challenging to get the best setup. Second the track is very safe, night and day with Clay last year...quite obviously! Thirdly the Whilton Mill circuit officials always seem to be in total control of what they are doing, again night and day better than a circuit like Clay, not to name anyone here. So hat off to Mr Chapman for the way he runs his ship. 4. i think the new format was a real success and enabled to have a first round with a lot less first lap carnage while still providing very good racing and good overtakings. All in all this first round felt like a Euromax where everyone is enjoyinh themselves more and taking the time to watch the action on the track. Everyone seemed to be very happy to see each other again, there was almost a convivial atmosphere to it. I must say that the commentator added to that positiveness and he is someone who, i think, takes great pleasure in knowing as many drivers as possible. He is not that fat or opiniated? i do recall many driver's dad that are both a lot fatter and opiniated! I have not been a great fan of Neil hann but hat off to him for taking a gamble on the format and having a good team of people around him including john Hoyle who has really added a very positive promotional aspect to the serie. That's my point of view as a driver! As for the clutch, well it is a long continuing topic!
