I have spoken with Jean of JAG this morning and am awaiting a phone call from John tomorrow when back in work with regards to my concerns.

Today, I checked the rear of my clutch drum and guess what...a thin line of gold coloured oil based (copper slip type material) was prsent along with some around the circumference of the bearing cage/hole!

In conclusion we believe that there MAY be a potential problem with these new style clutches.

The old style had holes around the face therefore MAYBE allowing any excess bearing grease exit outside the clutch drum, the new drum is solid and it is now clear that the grease LEGALLY used on the central bearing CAN GET INTO THE DRUM and through heat will melt down to an even thinner materieal, FACT! Ironically and please before you to try to crucify us for nothing done, any on of us could be excluded for excess material inside our drum AFTER the race, how many of you guys have been checked AFTER the race? Lots of us have BEFORE the race but the problem is NOT present then! These clutches are still new to scrutineers, not to Paul who has come across this problem before and Jean herself stated that there was a meeting recently about the oiling of these new styple clutches but as usual that information HAS NOT yet been share to the open public!

So if nothing else I have possibly made you all aware of POSSIBLE issues with greasing the bearing in accordance with the manual etc thus causing POSSIBLE wetting of the inside of the drum, make you own minds up but we will be back next weekend competing at the highest level aiming to win as usual and will be proudly walking to the grid as normal, if you want to discuss this further my dorr as I keep saying is open, lets not do this the cowards way behind a PC in a nameless fashion!
