1 . Temp , once over 40 degrees ok to drive hard . Try to keep around 60 degrees no higher . Can run for as long as the fuel lasts if you wish . 2 . Dry pressures , front 10psi rear 12psi as a starting point . Wet depends on make of tyre but mid teens will do as a starting point , more water = more pressure . 3 . This will be too rich but for starters be too rich rather than too lean . Jet 162 needle position 2 use a Denso IW27 plug as well .
If power valve has knurled knob then set 9 clicks out from fully in and if its the slotted earlier type then set it flush with the plastic cover . Check for a good seal between exhaust and manifold , dont overly tighten exhaust mounts as it must flex with the chassis and engine or seal will be lost and power will suffer . Dont stomp on the loud pedal it requires a more controlled throttle opening as the carb is too big really and performance will suffer . On gearing , dont get max rpm 1/2 way down the straight aim for just as you are getting to the braking area at the end of the straight , 14k is permissable but for longliverty 12-13 will do and you can always run 45:1 on the oil rather than 50:1 .
