1) because its a coated cylinder
2) because machining and recoating costs more than a new cylinder
3) because its not allowed under the regs

PS ALL Rotax barrles are CNC machined. The difference is in the porting which was always left "as cast" because its freakin difficult to machine. Infact it is impossible to fully CNC the ports, so i would like to know exactly how much CNC machine work is actually being done on the 09 barrels ... not much i suspect ?
