Another tip...

turn the engine over by hand until the engine is at its most free point, when the piston is either just past TDC. Don't know if that makes sense to anyone :S

This gives you almost a full rotation of the engine to gain momentum, so the engines compression at TDC doesn't stop the rear wheels turning.

Should help doing this when trying to restart in the wet.
