I don't think you've ever worked with them tho' and their impracticalities!
1 Importing on a lesser scale increases costs not reduces it! Using a harder tyre can have a less competitive life as it goes off quicker!
2 I think this is going to be very difficult logistically and most Clubs are just not set up to do this, as you point out space wise, manpower would be a serious problem as they only just scrape enough people to marshal, let alone bag tyres and man a parce ferme! The bagging costs and manpower at S1 are covered in the cost of the tyres, but once you've reduced this cost which is your aim then the you can't afford to bag them or man a parce ferme!
3 I've yet to see this work well because of variations in weight, tracks. Maybe it could but we've put some serious effort into making this work with limited success!
I think the theory behind what you're proposing looks great John, but every time I've seen your suggestions in reality they've never worked despite a considerable will to make them do so!
I think it's a mistake to separate rules for Club and Championship and I do think we need to reduce the cost of both and I like you would like to see more tyre testing and one that would suit the UK more, I'd also like people to realise that joining a team at Club level isn't necessary and we need to go back to promoting individual, not expensive teams!
Until the 'team mentality' problem is tackled costs will not effectively come down!
ps that's not a dig at teams, they are only supplying what people think they need, we all need to work on proving they don't need a big team too early!
