Coooo! Compliments, reasoned criticism and 'advice' combined!

Yup.... for my sins, I have been in IT since 1979. I am FULLY aware of the 'meaning' of capitals. It is also (almost) the ONLY method we have on this site of 'emphasis'. It's become part of my writing style.

Some people seem to think I write to be LIKED! What and odd thought!

There's also a more subtle side to the style: more people read this site than write to it. My style may WELL displease the 'target' of the posting but it may also 'educate' those 'lurkers'. It's not unusual for me to write something and then, possibly coincidentally, see the effect I was seeking reflected in subsequent postings of people who were NOT the target of such postings. I WOULD not claim 'cause and effect' but.... sometimes......

My most prominent 'campaigns' seem to have the effect I wanted! I needn't list them.......

Or perhaps I am the man who throws torn up newpapers out of the windows of the undrground to keep tigers away..... it obviously works as there have been very few reports about tigers on the underground........
