Having competed for a year in KF3, our experience is that the engines are very evenly matched and also extremely reliable. Our feeling is that there was never really more than a tenth in the engine itself.

We ran an XTR and a TM both maintained by GFR. We won the 2007-2008 Winter Series with the XTR and then used both engines to finish 7th in S1.

We bought rather than hired and feel that this was the correct decision for us. We intend to do the same now that we have moved into KF1.

Of course, others may have different views.
