In theory you can select the best bits from what you have, but if you are the one doing the ork the engine (in Comer) would have to go back to Zip for checking. However, most engine builders will do the selecting etc for you, test and reseal when the best mix found.

With regard to repairing damaged components, not sure on the answer to that one but I assume no. It would be illegal.
